Fannie Lee Taylor Family Photo

Fannie Lee Taylor was born April 4, 1931 to the union of Ulysses and Mattie Gates of Blytheville, Arkansas. She confessed her faith in Christ at an early age. Her life reflected the teachings of Christ as she served faithfully on the mother's board of Wofford Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

Fannie had a special love for people and a unique appreciation of nature. Her childhood years were spent on the farm with her parents and siblings in eastern Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a housekeeper before retiring. Throughout her life Fannie's smile warmed hearts and her gentle nature was comforting to those she greeted. She was a mother-figure to many and her home was always filled with stories, laughter and plenty of her good cooking.

She enjoyed gardening. Her flowerbeds and yard displayed great care and beauty. Her home and heart were a source of unconditional love and inspiration for many. Fannie was a giving daughter, loving wife and mother, cherished sister, and admired friend. She loved, laughed, and lived gracefully as Mama Fan.

On January 9, 1949, Fannie was united in holy matrimony to Amos Goldsberry and their union was blessed with three children. She remarried later in life. On November 28, 1960, she was united in holy matrimony to Frank Taylor. Their union was blessed with five children.

Fannie departed this life on June 25, 2014. She is preceded in death by Amos Goldsberry, Frank Taylor, Jewel Goldsberry, Freddie Goldsberry, Linda Taylor Cobson and Mark Taylor. Fannie leaves to cherish her precious memory: Eddie and Bonnie Goldsberry, Annie Goldsberry, Frank Taylor, Jr., Michael and Iris Taylor, Gwen and Ron Dozier, Judge (Roderick) Taylor.

Her legacy lives through a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her brothers Hosie Gates and Lloyd Gates, sister-in-laws Mary Gladney, Ora Goldsberry, Cora Goldsberry and Mattie Taylor Mills; one brother-in-law Ben Franklin and nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.
